The new release from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. integrates some very new types of hops.

The Chico, Calif.-based brewery will be releasing Harvest Newly Developed Hop IPA, a 6.5 percent ABV IPA that incorporates four different newly developed varietals from the Yakima Valley that are so new, “they are known only by numbers — 431, 472, 05256 and 06300.”

Harvest Newly Developed Hop IPA will be the third release so far in Sierra Nevada’s Harvest Series, which “showcases our favorite ingredient by exploring a range of hopping methods.” Previous releases in the series this year have included Harvest Single Hop IPA — Idaho 7 Varietal (6.5 percent ABV) and Harvest Fresh Hop IPA — Southern Hemisphere Harvest (6.7 percent ABV.)

According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new beer will be packaged in 24-ounce bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not returned.
