Sierra Nevada has a new barrel-aged beer, but it’s not bourbon barrels.

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. will release a new beer in its Trip In The Woods Series, Barrel-Aged Lime Ale which, according to the label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), carries a 9.3 percent ABV.

Trip In The Woods has included beer such as Scotch Style Ale (9.1 percent ABV), which was aged in bourbon barrels, Ovila Quad aged in madeira barrels (11.5 percent ABV), Tawny Narwhal (11.4 percent ABV), an aged in tawny port barrels.

The Chico, Cal.-based brewery states the ale will be aged in tequila barrels and ship in 12.7-ounce bottles.
