This weekend, Side Project Brewing is releasing two beers: one is the first in a new series while the other is something fans have seen multiple times before.
The new beer is Provence: Cup of Love, a 5 percent ABV saison brewed with a tea blend sourced from Big Heart Tea Co. named Cup of Love, which includes rose and tulsi tea. The collaboration with both Big Heart Tea Co. and Sardella restaurant in St. Louis is the first release in Side Project’s Provence Series, which will include beer that “explore the use of teas, hops and other spices.”
In addition, Side Project will be releasing the seventh batch of Saison du Blé, a 6 percent ABV saison that is an “exclusively foedre-aged beer from a Medium-toasted Missouri Oak Foeder Crafters foedre.” The saison debuted in November 2013, with the last release coming in December 2016.
According to a post on Side Project’s website, both Provence: Cup of Love and Saison du Blé Blend #7 will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($20) and will be released on May 27 at The Side Project Cellar and the Brewery, with allocations based on turnout.
