In a post on its blog, Side Project Brewing has announced the upcoming releases of two new beers: La Ruche and Backpack Fashion Show.
La Ruche is a oak-aged Missouri saison brewed with honey, a style the St. Louis, Mo.-based brewery is attempting for the first time. It was fermented with orange blossom honey and a Belgian Saison strain before being moved to a new high-stream, low-toast Missouri oak horizontal foeder the brewery acquired this year. After being innoculated with local microflora, it was bottle conditioned for six weeks.
In addition, the brewery will be releasing Backpack Fashion Show, an 8 percent ABV double IPA dry-hopped three times with both Galaxy and Motueka hops and with almost eight pounds of hops used per barrel. The IPA is being released under Side Project’s Shared brand, which is an experimental portion of the brewery allowing Cory King and its other brewers to create their own new and unique beers.
According to Side Project, La Ruche will be available for $25 per 750ml bottle while Backpack Fashion Show will be packaged in 16-ounce cans, and both are scheduled to be released on July 22. In addition, allocations will be based on the turnout that day.
