This weekend, Side Project Brewing will be adding a new Bière du Pays variant to its lineup.

The St. Louis, Mo.-based brewery will be releasing Grapefruit Bière du Pays, a 5 percent ABV “Missouri Table Saison” aged in wine barrels and conditioned on “the meat and juice of grapefruit” for “more than a year.” As the name suggests, the new beer uses Side Project’s Bière du Pays (4 percent ABV) as its base, a saison that was first released in 2014.

Side Project has released multiple fruited versions of its Bière du Pays over the years, including Blackberry Bière du Pays, Raspberry Bière du Pays and Bière du Pays with Tart Cherries.

According to a post on Side Project’s Instagram page, Grapefruit Bière du Pays will be packaged in 750ml bottles that are scheduled to be released at both Side Project locations on Jan. 19. Prices have not yet been announced and purchase limits are determined by Side Project based on attendance.
