Just a bit more than two weeks after releasing a collaboration with Creature Comforts Brewing, Side Project Brewing is it again, but this time the beer was brewed with Evil Twin Brewing.
The beer in question is Maltvin, an English barleywine-style ale that has been aged for 19 months in barrels that previously held Rittenhouse rye and maple bourbon barrels sourced from BLiS Gourmet before being blended together and bottled.
This Saturday, at The Brewery, we will have our collaboration with our friend Jeppe of @eviltwinbrewing available to-go. Maltvin is an English Barleywine we aged in Rye & @blisgourmet Maple Bourbon barrels for 18 months before blending. It will be available for on-site enjoy… pic.twitter.com/OyM8dP3k5S

This is not the first time the two breweries have joined forces, after Side Project released Styrbjørn in 2017, a double barrel-aged sour quadrupel-style ale brewed with muscavado sugar before being fermented with raisins in both red wine and whiskey barrels and then conditioned on plums in port barrels.
According to a post on Side Project’s Twitter page, Maltvin is scheduled to be released exclusively at the brewery on April 6. As has historically been the case, allocations will be based on the number of people who show up for the release.
