Four years after it’s debut, Side Project Brewing’s blueberry Flanders-style red ale is back this weekend.
Blueberry Flanders Blend 2 is a barrel-aged 7 percent Flanders-style red ale fermented on blueberries. The first release in 2014 also came in at 7 percent ABV and was aged in Missouri Chambourcin wine barrels with blueberries sourced from Michigan for 20 months.
According to a post on Side Project’s Instagram page, Blueberry Flanders Blend 2 will be packaged in 375ml bottles ($20) and will feature a purchase limit that will be based on turnout when it is released at both of the brewery’s locations on July 7.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not returned.
