This year, fans of Saranac Brewery’s pumpkin infused beer will have another way to enjoy it.
Pumpkin Ale will remain the same 5.1 percent ABV ale brewed with pumpkins as well as allspice, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and vanilla. The fall seasonal ale was first released by the Utica, N.Y.- based brewery in 2010 and is currently available in 12-ounce bottles that is also undergoing a label change.
“We use LOTS of real pumpkin to brew this beer (nearly 3,000 pounds)” reads Saranac’s website. “We add it right into our mash cooker with our specialty malts. The amount of pumpkin takes up over 10% of the total weight of the mash.”
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),, Pumpkin Ale will be available packaged in 32-ounce cans. An email sent the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
