SanTan Brewing Company will be releasing a new series that will include both some of its existing seasonal, as well as new beers in 16-ounce cans this fall. Named the Vault Series, after Valley National Bank’s old vault that resides at Arizona-based downtown Chandler brewpub, the six limited beers will be brewed in small batches and will exhibit higher ABVs.
The first beer to be released is Count Hopula, which is a blood rep IPA made with Simcoe hops that comes in at 9.1 percent ABV and 99 IBUs. It has been aging for six weeks and is now available at SanTan Brewing.
“The 6-8 week aging process is essential for this series due to the high alcohol content,” said Anthony Canecchia founder and brewmaster, in a press release. “By slowing things down and allowing the yeast to slowly condition the beer we’re able to produce a strong but balanced southwestern style ale.”
There will be a total of six different beers in the series with each new beer to be released every six-eight weeks depending on the aging process. In addition, a 100 barrel batch of each different beer will be made available at on draft at bars, retail locations and restaurants in its distribution network, which currently includes Arizona, California and Texas.
The five beers to be released after Count Hopula are: Winter Warmer, Mad Czar Russian Imperial Stout, Fat AleBert Hey Hey Heavyweight Brown, Lalapalupalin Ridiculous IPA and KiloHop Ludicrous IPA.
