Saint Arnold Brewing has released a new iteration of their Bishop’s Barrel Series, a series which started in back in 2012 and which has produced a number of different beers, including wild ales, barleywines, quads and stouts.

That newest release is Bishop’s Barrel No. 22, an 8 percent ABV “Texas Honey Saison” brewed with brettanomyces bruxellensis and aged in Chardonnay barrels with 900 pounds of apricot purée as well as peaches for approximately one year. In fact, the beer ended up being aged in three different types of chardonnay barrels, including some that originally housed Bishop’s Barrel No. 19.

The addition to the series incorporates Saint Arnold’s Icon Gold – Texas Honey Saison as its base, an ale that was originally released in 2016.

According to a press release from Saint Arnold, Bishop’s Barrel No. 22 is now shipping to retailers in Texas and Louisiana packaged in 12-ounce bottles as well as in kegs at select bars and restaurants.
