Texas’ oldest craft brewery is expanding its portfolio this week.

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. is releasing Icon Gold – Belgian IPA, a 6.8 percent ABV Belgian IPA featuring a Bastogne trappist yeast, a less phelonic type that allows the hop aroma to shine. It was fermented at 66 degrees for the first three days, then rose to 72 degrees to control the phelonics even more.

It uses Cascade and Centennial hops and was also dry-hopped with citra hops.

“Beers in the Icon Gold portfolio are more focused on yeast strains,” said Aaron Inkrott, Saint Arnold’s brewing operations manager, in a press release. “It’s the first time we’ve brewed this beer style, and we’re very happy with the result.”

It will be offered in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles in Louisiana and Texas.
