This year’s release of Russian River Brewing Co.’s Pliny the Younger has just ended, but next year’s version already has a release date.
According to a post on the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based brewery’s Facebook page, Feb. 1 is the date that the famous triple IPA brewed with a rotating hop bill will go on sale next year. The IPA was first brewed as a winter seasonal in 2005 and next year will mark the 15th consecutive year that the 10.25 percent ABV beer will be brewed and sold.
Russian River produces another beer named Pliny the Elder, an 8 percent ABV double IPA brewed with Amarillo, centennial, CTZ, and Simcoe hops.
As has historically been the case, Pliny the Younger will be available exclusively on draft throughout the state of California starting on Feb. 1, 2019. In addition, there will be very limited draft availability in a few other markets and no growlers will be filled.
