For the first time ever, Russian River Brewing Co. has started selling a double dry-hopped version of one of its most famous creations.
The beer in question is Double Dry-Hopped Pliny the Elder IPA, an 8 percent ABV double IPA. As the name suggests, the base beer is the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based brewery’s Pliny the Elder, an 8 percent ABV double IPA brewed with Amarillo, centennial, CTZ, and Simcoe hops.
According to a post on Russian River’s Facebook page, Double Dry-Hopped Pliny the Elder was packaged in 16-packs of 16-ounce cans ($82.25) that were sold at the brewery’s Santa Rosa and Windsor Gift Shop locations. In addition, the post indicates that “this is the first of hopefully many batches of DDH PTE” and that the next variant will follow “in about two weeks.”
