A new bottled beer from Russian River Brewing Co. is named after the process wherein the stronger central stem of a hop bine becomes dominant over all of the other stems.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), that beer is Apical Dominance, a 6.25 percent lager brewed with experimental hop HBC-692 that will be packaged in 510ml bottles. The lager debuted as a draft-only option in February 2018, but this would be the first time it has been packaged.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
