Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. has released a special beer on-draft to celebrate its 12th anniversary, and bottles are on the way.

The beer is Zwölfjahre, a 9.6 percent ABV American-style wheat ale that incorporates a blend of both American and German yeast as well as “significant amounts of wheat and hints of citrus hops” before being aged for 12 weeks in cabernet wine barrels with cherries. The Fort Worth, Texas-based brewery opened in 2004, and the name Zwölfjahre appropriately translates to twelve years in German.

According to the brewery, Zwölfjahre was originally released on-draft at Rahr’s anniversary party which took place on Nov. 5, and is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex this week packaged in 22-ounce bottles.
