This winter, Prairie Artisan Ales will be changing up a major ingredient in one of its most popular beers.

In an email, Zach Prichard, president of Krebs Brewing Co., told Tenemu that Prairie will be replacing the brand of coffee that is being used in Bomb!, a 13 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans and ancho chili peppers. Historically, Bomb! has incorporated a coffee named Espresso Divino from Tulsa, Okla.-based Nordaggios Coffee, but the new version will include a “single bean from Peru roasted between full city (and) Vienna” sourced from Spaceship Earth Coffee Co. in McAlester, Okla.

Prairie Artisan Ales was purchased by Krebs Brewing Co. in June.

According to Prichard, the new version of Bomb! will continue to be packaged in 12-ounce bottles, and distribution of the imperial stout should remain the same when it is released “sometime in October or November.”
