A new barrel-aged variant of a creation that commemorates Prairie Artisan Ales’ most famous beer includes a brand new ingredient.
Barrel-Aged Birthday Bomb! is a 14.7 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with cacao nibs, caramel sauce, chili peppers, coffee and vanilla beans that has been aged in bourbon barrels. In addition, the new stout was also brewed with toffee, an ingredient that is not in the base beer Birthday Bomb!, a 13 percent ABV imperial stout which debuted in 2016 that incorporates caramel sauce that is hand made at the brewery.
According to a post on Prairie’s Facebook page, Barrel-Aged Birthday Bomb! is packaged in 12-ounce bottles that are now shipping to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network.
