Prairie Artisan Ales is rereleasing one of its first beers this week.
The Tulsa, Okla.-based brewery is releasing Okie, a 12 percent ABV imperial brown ale aged in oak whiskey barrels. When it was originally brewed in 2013, it also measured 12 percent ABV, but was packaged in 750ml bottles. The newest version is being sold in 12-ounce bottles. This incarnation is being brewed and bottled by Krebs Brewing Co. in Krebs, Okla. and will be distributed by Favorite Brands.
According to Wesley Morrison, brand ambassador for Prairie, while Okie will be released to most of Prairie’s distribution network this week, but the release in Texas will be “a couple of months behind as we filled another run of barrels just for them.”
