A new Noir is coming.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Prairie Artisan Ales is working on Rye Noir, an imperial stout aged in rye whiskey barrels that uses the brewery’s Noir imperial stout as its base. Prairie has released a number of Noir variants in the past, including Coffee Noir (11.5 percent ABV), Pirate Noir (12 percent ABV), Wine Barrel Noir (11 percent ABV) and Apple Brandy Noir (12 percent ABV.)
Rye Noir will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles. In addition, while the beer label attached to this story is the label that was approved by TTB, Prairie frequently changes the final designs of labels before the beers are released to market.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
