Port Brewing Co. is adding a new packaging option for fans, at least for some of its releases.

The first beer to be canned will be Mongo Double IPA, an 8.5 percent ABV double IPA brewd with Cascade, Columbus and Simcoe hops. The IPA was first released by the San Marcus, Calif.-based brewery in 2010 and is currently available packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

According to post on Port Brewing’s Instagram page, Mongo IPA will be packaged in 16-ounce cans that are scheduled to begin shipping to retailers “next week.” In addition, the post indicates that the next beer to be canned will be High Tide IPA, a 6.5 percent ABV IPA that is brewed and dry-hopped with freshly harvested whole flower hops.
