This Saturday, Pizza Port Brewing Co. will be releasing a collaborative beer with Stone Brewing Co. named “BFF San Diego Pale Ale.”

Unlike in popular vernacular, the “BFF” in the name stands for “Beer Friends Forever” and the beer is a 6.2 percent ABV pale ale brewed with a wide variety of hops including Citra, Mosaic, Rakau, Southern Cross and UK Target.

According to a post on Pizza Port’s Facebook page, the “20+ years of continued beer friendship has inspired this collaboration” and the two breweries have a history going back to 1996 when the very first Stone keg sold was purchased by Pizza Port.

The Carlsbad, Calif.-based brewery brewed this 6.2 percent ABV pale ale with a wide variety of hops including Citra, Rakau, UK Target, Southern Cross, and Mosaic.

The collaboration is being released at all Pizza Port brewpubs packaged in six-packs of 16-ounce cans on June 23. In addition, the six-packs will be available for purchase at Southern California retailers beginning June 25, with retailers inArizona and Nevada following soon after.

An email to the brewery for further information was not immediately returned.
