Pelican Brewing Co. has released a new single hop IPA that celebrates the spring season.

Named Umbrella IPA, the 7.4 percent ABV India pale ale incorporates Australian-grown Ella hops exclusively in order to “have a clean, crisp, hop-forward character that resonates with the newness of springtime.”

“The use of Ella hops offers an aroma that is filled with gooseberry and bright fruit,” reads a press release. “The fresh and zippy Ella hops are nicely balanced by a clean and light pale malt character.”

The new release joins three other seasonal releases for the Pacific City, Ore. brewery: Red Lantern IPA (6.4 percent ABV), Surfer’s Summer Ale (5.3 percent ABV) and Bad Santa (6.7 percent ABV).

According to the press release, Umbrella IPA is packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles, 22-ounce bottles and on draft, and is available now “through the end of June.”
