The annual release of Pelican Brewing Co.’s Mother of All Storms is happening in just a few weeks.
This 14 percent ABV English-style barleywine is the Pacific, Ore.-based brewery’s most popular beer and is brewed with golden promise, Munich, melanoidin and caramel malts as well as Magnum, and glacier hops. The beer then spends several months aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels before being bottled and kegged.
The beer was originally released back in 2008 under the name The Perfect Storm, but due to an issue with the name, Pelican changed the name to Mother of All Storms in 2010.
According to the brewery’s Twitter, Mother of All Storms will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($20) and will be available on Nov. 17, but reservations are already underway on Pelican’s order sign-up page where you can sign up to order the number of cases that you want to purchase and will be notified at a later by the brewery with how many cases you can buy.
