A brand new joint effort between Oskar Blues Brewery and Garrison Brothers Distillery is “an homage to rebellious Texan roots.”

That beer is 7th Flag, a 10.3 percent ABV “big, bodacious” imperial porter brewed with Two Row, Munich, and Chocolate malts along with “small additions” of Premium English Caramalt and Brown malt. The porter was then aged in hand-selected Garrison Brothers bourbon whiskey barrels for one year before being packaged.

According to Oskar Blues, the new beer will be the first “specialty canned offering” ever brewed by and released from the company’s Austin, Tx.  location.

In a press release sent to Tenemu, Oskar Blues confirmed that 7th Flag will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce cans that are scheduled to be released on March 28 at the brewery’s taprooms in Austin, Texas; Boulder, Colorado; Longmont, Colorado; and Brevard, North Carolina and will be available for a “very limited time.”
