A new version of Oskar Blues Brewery most popular stouts is on the way.
JahVanilla Ten Fidy is a 12.9 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on vanilla and Jamaican Blue Mountain cold brewed coffee that will be packaged in 19.2-ounce cans. The “super concentrated cold brew” was sourced from Hotbox Roasters and was made with two pounds of coffee per barrel of beer.
As the name suggests, the base beer is the Longmont, Colo.-based brewery’s Ten Fidy, a 10.5 percent ABV imperial stout.
Oskar Blues has released a number of Ten Fidy variants over the years, including Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy, Java Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy and Rum Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy. In addition, the brewery has released at least one version of Ten Fidy brewed with both coffee and vanilla, although it was a non-barrel-aged draft-only option that came in at a much lower 10.5 percent ABV.
According to a post on Oskar Blues’ Facebook page, JahVanilla Ten Fidy will be packaged in 19.2-ounce cans ($12.50) and is being released exclusively at the brewery’s Colorado taprooms at 4:20pm on April 20 with no purchase limits.
