Less than a week after Oskar Blues Brewery announced its new 2020 Barrel-Aged Series, we now have more info on a possible second beer being added.
BA20 Vol. 2: Amburilla is a 12.5 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with ginger and Madagascar vanilla beans that will be packaged in 12-ounce cans. As the name suggests, it will be the second release in Oskar Blues’ BA20 Series, which will consist of four different barrel-aged beers that will incorporate a new tool for the Longmont, Colo.-based brewery’s brewers: the “Spinbot 5000”, which works by circulating beer through added adjuncts for “hours or days at a time for maximum flavor transfer.”
The first beer in the series is BA20 Vol. 1: All Monde, a 12.5 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels for “nine oaky months” before being conditioned on toasted almonds and Madagascar vanilla beans. According to a press release, that creation is currently being shipped to retailers nationwide.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
