The newest beer from Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Brewery Ommegang, named Hopstate NY, is a 5.6 percent ABV American pale ale that commemorates the state of New York by using only native-grown hops in the brewing process.
“In the land of heavenly beauty- where travelers are greeted by a welcoming goddess- there’s an even more magical world: upstate New York, home to storied waterfalls, fabled lakes and beloved mountains, and two centuries’ history of hop growing,” reads the label on the beer. “In fact the hops in this fine ale are all New York grown, and reflect the best of our agricultural and brewing traditions.”
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new release will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles.
