Brewery Ommegang is one of the latest in a growing collection of breweries to produce a brut IPA this year.

The Cooperstown, N.Y.-based brewery’s appropriately named Brut IPA is an effervescent, bottle-conditioned 6.3 percent ABV IPA brewed with pilsner malt and flaked corn as well as Calypso, Citra and Mandarina Bavaria hops.

“With Brut IPA, we’ve created a distinctively Ommegang expression of this hop-driven style, using high attenuation and bottle conditioning to achieve a bright, dry, champagne-like character,” said Phil Leinhart, Ommegang’s brewmaster, in a press release.

According to a spokesperson for the brewery, Brut IPA will be a year-round release packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to ship to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network starting in mid-December.”
