A barrel-aged version of one of Off Color Brewing’s most popular beers is being released Saturday.
The beer in question is Barrel-Aged Dinos’mores, a 10.5 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with nugget hops and nine different types of malts as well as cocoa nibs, graham flour, marshmallow fluff, molasses and vanilla beans. The stout was then aged for 18 months in Bardstown, Ky.-based Willett Distillery 2 Year Rye whiskey barrels before being bottled.
Barrel-Aged Dinos’mores uses the Chicago, Ill.-based brewery’s Dinos’mores (10.5 percent ABV) as its base, and was first released in 2015 as a draft-only option.
According to a post on Off Color’s website, Barrel-Aged Dinos’mores will be packaged in two-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($15) when it goes on sale at the brewery on July 9.
