An upcoming release from Odell Brewing Co. is a tribute to both beer and wine.

The new beer is named Crossover, a sour blonde ale that has been aged in both chardonnay and sauvignon blanc wine barrels in order to “introduce notes of tropical fruit, elderflower and a subtle oak finish.”

“We’re in a relentless search for new ways to influence the character of our beer,” reads the beer label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB.) “Crossover is our tribute to the complex partnership between two of the most prolific and ancient fermented beverages — beer and wine.”

According to the beer label, Crossover will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
