Next week, Odell Brewing Co. of Fort Collins, Colo. is taking a walk on the wild side.
Elephunk is a 9.9 percent ABV “wild-inspired” imperial IPA that is brewed with Cascade, centennial and chinook hops before being aged in toasted American oak barrels for between one and two years. In an email, Alex Kayne, director of marketing for Odell, told Tenemu that the new IPA will be sold in single 12-ounce bottles like another of the brewery’s recent releases, Jolly Russian (13.3 percent ABV):
“It allows us to experiment with smaller quantities,” said Kayne in an email. “We’re able to share some complex and unique beers that wouldn’t normally be available on a larger scale.”
According to Kayne, Elephunk is scheduled to be released across Odell’s 13-state distribution network starting on Dec. 5.
