With the craft beer explosion, there are many unique and outlandish beers that have popped up over the years. The new offering from Odell Brewing Co. is both of those things.

The Fort Collins, Colo. brewery filed labels for Green Coyote, a tomatillo sour. The ale brewed with tomatillo fruit is a take on a classic, German-style berliner weisse.

“A bountiful spring harvest of tomatillo fruit creates a slight sweetness and tangy bite, while subtle notes of kiwi, cucumber and lemon howl alongside tartness on the tongue,” the label reads. “The untamed freshness of Green Coyote will have you lapping it up at high-noon, or in the glow of the moonlight.”

Green Coyote is 5.1 percent ABV and will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles.

An official release date has not been announced, but according to Odell’s release calendar, it was previously scheduled for late-May or early-June.
