A new bottled beer from OddSide Ales includes a reference to a popular television skit.
According to a label posted its Facebook page, the Grand Haven, Mich.-based brewery will be releasing bottles of Mango IPA, a 6.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with mangos. OddSide released a beer with the same name on draft earlier this year, although that IPA came in at a slightly lower 6 percent ABV.
Both the person depicted on the label as well as the tagline of “Can you pay a rainbow to be less beautiful?” are references to the recurring Mango skit on Saturday Night Live played by actor Chris Kattan.
In an email, Josh Gordon, brewer and operations manager at OddSide, told Tenemu that Mango IPA will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($12-$13) and is scheduled to be released at both the brewery and across the brewery’s distribution footprints “sometime around the fall.”
