OddSide Ales is bottling an IPA that will be released just as it is getting hot outside.

According to Josh Gordon, brewer at OddSide, the brewery will be bottling Blood Orange IPA, a 7 percent ABV IPA brewed with Cascade and centennial hops as well as fresh blood orange puree. The pale ale was first released as a draft-only option by the the Grand Haven, Mich.-based brewery earlier this year, and while it continues to be offered on and off at the brewery, this will be the first time the beer has been packaged.

This is not the first time that OddSide has incorporated fruit into an IPA, as the brewery released Pineapple IPA (6.5 percent ABV) for the first time in 2011. However, according Gordon, Pineapple IPA incorporates a different grain bill as well as different hops.

In an email, Gordon told Tenemu that Blood Orange IPA will be packaged in 500ml bottles and is scheduled to be released “later in the summer.”
