A new release being bottled by OddSide Ales brings to mind food more than beer.
The new beer getting the new packaging option is Sweet Potato Soufflé Rye Ale, an 11 percent ABV rye ale brewed with sweet potatoes, cinnamon, nutmeg and lactose before being aged in Jack Danial’s rye whiskey barrels for approximately six months. The new ale is based on the Grand Haven, Mich.-based brewery’s Sweet Potato Pie (10.7 percent ABV), which was released as a draft-only option earlier this year.
In an email, Josh Gordon, operations manager and brewer at OddSide, told Tenemu that Sweet Potato Soufflé Rye Ale will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles and will be a brewery only release “sometime after September”, although any bottles that are left will see distribution.
