Odd Side Ales will be releasing two beers on Black Friday, both of which have spent time aging in bourbon barrels.
First up is Hipster Brunch Stout, a 10 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with coffee, maple syrup and cooked bacon, then aged in bourbon barrels and available in four packs of 12-ounce bottles. Both the barrel-aged and non-barrel-aged version of this beer has been offered on tap at the brewery before, but this is the first time the barrel-aged version has been released in bottles.
The second beer is named Morningwood, a 9.5 percent imperial stout brewed with coffee and anger in bourbon barrels. First released in 2011, the stout is being sold in four packs of 12-ounce bottles ($17.50). According to the brewery, 2014 will be the last year Morningwood will be sold in bottles.
Both new beers will be released exclusively at the Grand Haven, Mich.-based brewery on Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.
In addition to the above, a third new beer is scheduled to be released in mid-December named Beautiful Disaster, which according to the brewery is a blend of its Citra Pale Ale, 5.75 percent ABV, and El Dankerino, a double IPA that has been aged in red wine barrels and measures 10 percent ABV.
