Ninkasi Brewing Co. has a new special release that will be available next month.
Coming next month is Noir, a 7.6 percent ABV milk stout brewed with nugget hops as well as 2-row pale, Munich, chocolate, crystal, brown and black malts. After brewing, the beer was blended with cold brewed coffee from Portland, Ore.-based Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
“I have been brewing beers with coffee since the mid-nineties and have always loved the rich creaminess milk sugar imparts on beers and how it melds with coffee,” says Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi founding brewer and co-founder, in a post on the brewery’s website. “Last year, we collaborated on a Coffee Milk Stout with Sierra Nevada and enjoyed the beer so much, we decided to brew one of our own.”
Noir will join four other releases in the Eugene, Ore.-based brewery’s Special Release Series:
- Ground Control imperial stout (10 percent ABV)
- The Devil Went Down To Oregon imperial dark rye (7.2 percent ABV)
- Maiden the Shade IPA (6.8 percent ABV)
- Imperiale stout (9.1 percent ABV)
According to a post on its website, Noir will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles as well as 12-ounce bottles in a Variety 12- Pack and will be available from September through December across its entire distribution network.
