The newest version of one of New Glarus Brewing Co.’s only creations brewed with cranberries is heading to retailers shelves now.
Cran-bic 2020 is a 6 percent ABV Lambic-style ale that was brewed “in the traditional method employed by the Lambic Brewers of Belgium”, including five months of outdoor aging in oak barrels. The ale was also conditioned on cranberries from “the wilds” of Wisconsin before being packaged.
Cran-bic was originally released in 2009 as part of the Unplugged Series, but was added to the New Glarus, Wis.-based brewery’s Thumbprint Series in 2014, which is a series made up of creations that head brewer Dan Carey releases at various times throughout each year packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles.
According to a post on New Glarus’ Instagram page, Cran-bic 2020 is packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are currently shipping to retailers exclusively in the state of Wisconsin and are also now available to go at the brewery.
