New Glarus Brewing Co. is rereleasing a classic beer for its final R&D release of the year.

The newest release from the the New Glarus, Wis.-based brewery is R&D 2015 Golden Ale, a 6 percent ABV  “Belgian Trappist Style Ale” brewed with Czech & Munich malts along with both German Saphir and French Strisselspalt hops. According to a press release, the bottle-conditioned beer was brewed in June and bottled in August, and a total of 38 bbls was produced.

Golden Ale was first released as part of the R&D series in 2009, but that version came in at 7 percent ABV and incorporated maris otter malt and styrian golding hops.

R&D 2015 Golden Ale is the final of four different releases in the brewery’s R&D series this year, following R&D Wild Bitter IPA (10 percent ABV) in May, R&D Vintage 2014 (6 percent ABV) in June and R&D Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel (7.5 percent ABV) in August.

According to the a press release, R&D 2015 Golden Ale will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($10) and will be available at the brewery starting on Oct. 8 with a two bottle per person per day limit.
