New Belgium Brewing Co. is releasing a new seasonal just in time for the summer.

Heavy Melon is a 5 percent ABV ale brewed with ale yeast, nugget hops as well as pale and caramel-80 malts. In addition, lime peel was added in the boil and watermelon was added in fermentation “to capture the elicit fruit flavors, and to ferment all those sugars.” The beer was first released by the Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewery in late 2015 as a draft-only option.

Although they have not been released yet, filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) also indicate that the beer will also be available in 12-ounce cans at some point in the future.

According to a press release, six-packs of 12-ounce bottles of Heavy Melon have started shipping across New Belgium’s distribution footprint, while 12-ounce cans will be included in the brewery’s folly packs that are scheduled to begin shipping on May 30.
