A new creation from New Belgium Brewing Co. was inspired by sparkling wines.
Brut IPA is a 6.7 percent ABV IPA brewed with Champagne yeast that will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles. The new style of beer typically uses a specific enzyme to give it an effervescent mouthfeel like Champagne as well as a finish that is drier than in normal IPAs.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Brut IPA will be part of a new series for the Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewery named the Up Next Series.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
