An upcoming IPA from New Belgium Brewing Co. includes an interesting added ingredient.
The new beer is Bretta IPA, a 7.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with brettanomyces as well as Equinox, Galaxy and Warrior hops.
It is the second release this year in the Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewery’s Hop Kitchen Series, which started in 2013 and “showcases our beers that are hop-heavy.” The first release in the series for 2016 was Botanical IPA (8.5 percent ABV) which hit retailers in early March, and there will be two more beers released in the series before the end of the year.
According to Jenny Foust, spokesperson for New Belgium, Bretta IPA will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and is scheduled to be shipped to retailers across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint in “early August.”
