If you like your cream with coffee and sugar, Black House Nitro may be your huckleberry.
Modern Times Beer is canning a nitro version of its Black House stout. Black House is a moniker shared by a number of Modern Times products. For clarification, Black House the coffee is a blend of Ethiopian Hambela and Sumatra Mandehling, roasted at Modern Times. Black House the beer is a year-round oatmeal stout from the brewery side of San Diego-based Modern Times.
NOW CANNING: Nitro Black House with Coffee, Coconut, & Cocoa
Beginning next week, Modern Times has a another twist for Black House: 16-ounce nitro cans of Black House with additional notes of coconut and cocoa provide “velvety decadence.” The brewery also recommends that the beer be “pour[ed] hard for maximum magic.”
The nitro version of Black House is a 90 SRM at 40 IBU beer brewed with 2 row, oats, Crystal 60, Munich, chocolate pale malt, roasted barley, flaked barley, Midnight wheat, Carapils and Kiln coffee malt. It debuted on tap in 2014.
According to the brewery, it will head to distribution.
