Left Hand Brewing Co. is releasing another beer bottled with nitrogen instead of CO2.
The Longmont, Colo.-based brewery’s newest beer to incorporate nitrogen is Hard Wired Nitro, a 6 percent ABV porter brewed with coffee. Although the name is new, Left Hand released another 6 percent ABV coffee porter in 2014 named Beer Week Sauce that was brewed with Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee from Thornton, Colo.-based Allegro Coffee. The draft-only option was brewed with 2-row, Munich, chocolate, crystal and carafe malts along with centennial and cascade hops.
Left Hand has three other beers bottled with nitrogen: Milk Stout Nitro (6 percent ABV), Sawtooth Nitro (5.3 percent ABV), and Wake Up Dead Nitro (10.2 percent ABV.)
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Hard Wired Nitro Coffee Porter will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not returned.
