Next week, Lakewood Brewing Co. will be shipping the latest Temptress variant.

The beer is Mole Temptress, a 9.1 percent ABV imperial milk stout brewed with assorted chilies including ancho, chipotle, guajillo and pasilla; cinnamon and 100 percent cacao nibs. The stout debuted as a draft-only option in 2013, and has historically been released every year to commemorate the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Mole Temptress is part of the Seduction Series, variations of Lakewood’s Temptress milk stout that use different adjuncts to enhance the flavors of the base beer. Since 2014, there have been four different incarnations released  every year: Raspberry Temptress, Mole Temptress, French Quarter Temptress and Sin Mint Temptress. A new fifth variant, Coconut Temptress, is scheduled to ship to retailers sometime this summer.

As with the rest of the Temptress variants being released this year, Mole Temptress will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that will begin shipping across the brewery’s distribution footprint next week. In an email, Craig Bradley, marketing and events manager at Lakewood, told Tenemu in an email that there would be a draft-only bourbon barrel-aged version of Mole Temptress that is scheduled to be available in early May.
