Lakewood Brewing Co. officially opened a new taproom and expanded brewery today.
The 14,000-square-foot expansion includes 8,000-square-feet of brand new production space as well as a larger 2,000-square-foot taproom with 16 beers on tap, space for tables and a merchandise store. The new addition is located right next to the original brewery at 2302 Executive Drive in Garland, Texas.
“Everything we’ve worked for since we sold our first keg in 2012 has been leading to this moment,” said Wim Bens, founder of Lakewood Brewing Company, in a press release. “It could not have happened without the continued support of the DFW beer fans, customers and our families and staff. Our goal has always been to provide DFW with the highest quality beers for any occasion, and this expansion allows us to keep that promise.“
The expansion immediately doubles the brewery’s production and also includes room for a new canning line, which will be utilized to can select beers this month, including Lakewood Lager, Rock Ryder and Hopochondria. In addition, the new taproom will offer a rotating selection of beers, including year-round and seasonal releases as well as taproom exclusive releases.
