Just weeks after Lakewood Brewing Co. released one of its Temptress variants in four-packs for the first time, a barrel-aged version is close to debuting, albeit exclusively on draft.

The beer in question is Barrel-Aged Raspberry Temptress, an imperial milk stout brewed with lactose sugar, vanilla and fresh raspberries. The new incarnation is aged in Breckenridge Distilling bourbon barrels and uses Lakewood’s Raspberry Temptress (9.1 percent ABV) as its base.

“We’re excited to finally release these highly-limited beers, starting with Barrel-aged Raspberry Temptress,” said Wim Bens, president and founder of Lakewood, in a press release. “It’s everything you love about BBT with a big burst of raspberry flavor and aroma.”

This the first of five different barrel-aged versions of Lakewood’s Seduction Series to be released, which are variations of Lakewood’s Temptress milk stout that use different adjuncts to enhance the flavors of the base beer. The other four iterations to be released this year are Mole Temptress, French Quarter Temptress , Sin Mint Temptress and an additional fifth variation that has not yet been named. In addition, each of the different variants are being aged in a variety of different types and brands of barrels.

According to a press release, Barrel-Aged Raspberry Temptress is expected to be released in limited quantities exclusively on draft at select locations “starting at the end of February.”
