We now know when Lakewood Brewing Co.’s most anticipated releases of the year is being released.

The beer in question is Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2019, an imperial stout brewed with both lactose sugar and vanilla before being aged in barrels that previously held bourbon sourced from Colorado and blended with “a portion” of last year’s release of Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2018. As the name indicates, the stout is a variant of the Garland, Texas-based brewery’s popular Temptress imperial milk stout (9.1 percent ABV.)

The first release of the barrel-aged beer was as a draft-only option in 2012 before it was bottled for the first time in 2013 and it has continued to be bottled every year since then.

According to a post on Lakewood’s Facebook page, Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2019 is packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be released in two separate events:

  • A VIP event on Dec. 13 that interested parties can purchase tickets to at this website for $65 each. Each ticket will include: a commemorative BBT 2019 tasting glass, three 10-ounce pours of BBT 2019 and a signed bottle of Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2019 to take home.
  • The public release on Dec. 14, when Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2019 will go on sale to the general public with a two bottle per person purchase limit. In addition, Growlers and crowlers of the stout will be available for sale.

Finally, 22-ounce bottles of Bourbon Barrel Temptress 2019 will begin shipping to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network the week of Dec. 16.
