There’s a new addition to Lake Effect Brewing Co.’s Barrel Aged Reserve Series coming this month, Lake Effect Aged Red.
The red ale was ged 10 months in bourbon barrels and dry hopped with Citra hops. A label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) reads:
Aged 10 months in bourbon barrels, our aged red ale meld flavors of bourbon and oak with a robust hop profile. Citrus notes and a slight tartness rides along the mall base giving this ale multiple experiences with each ip. Best enjoyed in a tup or snifter glass.
Aged Red comes in at 8 percent ABV.
According to the Chicago, Ill.-based brewery’s website, distribution is “very limited” and it will begin shipping this month. Lake Effect Aged Red will ship in 750ml bottles.
