A new addition to Lagunitas Brewing Co.’s Sonoma Farmhouse Series was soured in two different ways.

Sour Wheat Ale is a 12 percent ABV golden ale that was kettle-soured “on the hot side” before being aged in Sonoma County red wine barrels with brettanomyces for up to two years. The new beer will be part of the Petaluma, Calif.-based brewery’s Sonoma Farmhouse Series, which is “a showcase of the sometimes funky, sometimes rustic, always limited fine ales from Lagunitas brewer’s playground.”

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Sonoma Farmhouse Series Sour Wheat Ale will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles.
